Why Should I Hire You? |
Next |
Here are a few suggestions to help you stay on track.
Never argue for your limitations. It's easy to start thinking in terms of what's missing if you've been out of work for a long time but arguing for your limitations will never bring you the work you seek. Focus instead on how you can position your unique skills and abilities to support a potential employer's goals. Pay particular attention to the things that are so easy for you that they seem unimportant. Ask yourself what sets you apart, what makes you different.
Fill in the gaps. If there is knowledge, skills or experience you want or need, set about getting them and brag about your efforts to do so instead of shining a spotlight on what you don't have.
